Málaga Automobile and Fashion Museum
Hello everyone. Today I'm going to take you to the city of Malaga in Spain. Here there's a museum dedicated to automobiles and fashion. It opened on the site of an old royal tobacco factory, with beautifully restored cars and more than 300 pieces of fashion on display.
At the museum entrance, there's a lovely garden filled with flowers and a fountain in the center. When we visited the fountain wasn't working. There's also a café nearby. After the garden you see the entrance to the museum. Around the fountain, there are purple flowers and I really liked the blue ceramic frogs in the corners.
I invite you to this interesting automobile and fashion museum.
At the entrance we were greeted by seats designed to look like cars. The admission fee for adults was 10 euros. Inside there are 10 different themed halls, each reflecting a different historical period.
The first hall stretches from the late 19th century to just before World War I. At first cars were like the continuation of horse-drawn carriages and a few years later, they became more stylish to provide aesthetics and comfort for aristocrats.
A typical American car in a picnic model was quite popular among upper-class families. It was often used for trips to the southern countryside on Sundays. It had a picnic basket and a drink holder inside. There was also a straw hat. This is a very rare model, with only two examples in the world. The other one is displayed in a museum in Indiana USA.
This car really caught my interest. At the front, there's a happy couple sitting, while in the back, there's a woman with a rather displeased expression. This is one of the luxury French cars produced in 1905. The rear seats aren't very comfortable and it's even referred to as the mother-in-law seat.
While exploring the first hall, we saw many details like classic American cars, picnic baskets and hats. Some of these cars are rare models and it's said that some are one of only two in existence.
There's also a car model that was once on the Titanic and it was used in the Titanic movie. This car sank in the ocean after the Titanic hit an iceberg in 1912.
In another hall there were old-fashioned firefighting vehicles, three-wheeled cars, old cars from different countries and more. Some cars even had large aircraft engines at the front. These cars were made to repurpose excess aircraft engines after the war.
This building used to operate as a tobacco factory. It was used as a factory from 1923 to 1932. All the cars displayed in the museum belong to a Portuguese collector. He bought this building and started displaying his car collection here as a museum about 10 years ago. The museum's popularity is growing and new cars are constantly being added.
Another interesting section is dedicated to vintage clothing and accessories. We saw outfits from Chanel, Dior, Prada and other luxury brands. There were also hats and other decorative items.
The museum also hosts events like concerts, conferences, fashion shows and other special events. It can also be used for private events, like weddings, birthdays and other celebrations.
We learned that the total value of the cars here is 25 million euros. It's considered one of the best classic car collections in the world.
This concludes our visit to this fascinating museum. I hope you enjoyed it. I wish you wonderful discoveries and great memories on your next adventure. See you soon.
