A cruise, began poorly
I am starting a 4-day cruise with friends and family, but it hasn't started well. Here are the list of things to its detriment:
- economy seating, between my daughter at the window and my wife at the aisle; at 6'2, I do not fold as well as I used to when I was growing up, sitting in the back of my dad's Datsun 210 hatchback.
- multiple bug bites on my thighs, which cause large areas of heated swelling .
- work meeting immediately proceeding departing our house; thankfully, I was able to remote in that day, but listening to my co-workers talking and talking and talking...
- one-hour delay for takeoff, due to some sort of luggage issue; for some reason, American Airlines didn't think to simply remove the item(s) and their associated owners from the plane and let the rest of the passengers leave.
Now, I am sitting in the hotel's breakfast area, scarfing down pre-fried eggs and sausage patties, washing it down with hotel coffee, waiting for the shuttle to the cruise terminal where we will likely endure a few more hours of delay. By the afternoon, I will be sailing towards Key West and Cozumel; I will post more of the trip, along with photos.
