Lightroom: Bringing Details From RAW

I am no photographer. I like photography. But I am no photographer. I snap away. At best I do look for common cliches: Light, lines, and subjects. Sometimes I win, sometimes the world wins. So I have to be prepared with what I think to be the best tools my money can afford.

Lightroom

Since 2008 I have been the guy who downloads free versions of Lightroom. The package is addictive. So many ways to modify a picture. So many filters, so many FREE filters! I spent hours and hours, filter on top of filter to get the look I wanted… or to discover that look I didn’t know it existed.

I recently decided to buy into the Adobe Creative SDK Cloud monthly subscription. Yeah, yeah save your hatred for another post. I know how much money I am sending away. Believe me.

To be able to get such details and look and feel out of what at first look would seem a trash picture is amazing. A few filters here, a few adjustments there, undo and repeat, undo and change. Literally just 5 minutes into it and you are already discovering how great of a picture this one really was.

Goes to show, shoot in RAW every time. Have the right tool handy. Stick to those cliches. Yes, lines, yes lights, yes subjects.

At the end photography always wins. Even when you don’t.

Please comment below if you have any questions regarding RAW Photography or how I edited this particular picture.
