I recently made my Mustang trip on this November. I took a week day leave from my office and planned to visit this fascinating place with my 4 friends. This place is also known as the "Forbidden Kingdom". The border to China is also located in this district and its actually Higher Mustang where border is located. The place I am visiting is Lower Mustang. The road condition to higher Mustang is in very bad condition. There are always the risk of landslided from rock. You can see one car that fell down in one of the major river- Kali Gandaki river due to the landslide. So its better to go on walk and there is everywhere a barren land no single vegetation. So it must be extremely daring and adventurous. Give it a visit when you are in Nepal.

Upper Mustang is often called the forbidden or lost kingdom, because it is one of the last untouched places of the Tibetan Buddhist religion, culture and lifestyle, unchanged for centuries. The journey to one of the most remote places on Earth begins from Jomsom in the Kali Gandaki river valley and passes through a barren desert landscape, deeply rugged canyons and unusual landscapes to the walls of the capital of Lo Monthang. Filled with mazes of narrow streets and alleys, the city appears before us as an ancient medieval fortress with monasteries and temples. This journey will give you an amazing experience that allows you to step back in time and get to know yourself better.

Upper Mustang was opened for tourists only in 1991 and only by special permits that are still required. After 50 years, we have the opportunity to visit the Lost Kingdom and realize how time flows in its own way in every culture and in different corners of our planet. So give it a try to visit here.
