Creepy fake town: This is the place for nuclear bomb testing
PUBLICDOMAINREVIEW.ORG
At the beginning of the nuclear age, the world lived in true paranoia, because no one was sure of the consequences of using nuclear weapons. To better understanding what is happening after the explosion and its consequences, America has thrown a 16-kiloton bomb into a fake city in the middle of the Nevada desert.
The mission called "Operation Doorstep" helped them to find out whether wooden houses, cars and dolls could endure an exhibition of nukler bombs.
These photographs were made on March 17, 1953, just before the test.
This was a car set in a fake city.

There were people in the car, that is, the dolls who came back from shopping.

To simulate a real attack, the dolls are set to sit next to the window. So it would look like a real family unconscious to follow a nuclear attack.

Other family members, ie dolls, were placed in a safer place in the house, such as this group located in the basement.

The second group of dolls is located beneath the staircase in the basement to test if it is a good hiding place.
