I'm trying to like steem

I'm trying really hard to like this steem thing but it's just so non interactive. Maybe I'm missing something... I just can't find the lure yet. Is there development in the works to change things up a bit?

Its like driving through a nice neighborhood by accident because GPS was wrong. Pretty cool houses to look at but you don't belong.

Communities are coming in the next version. That will let you create a niche community, like a Facebook group, and manage it for a % of all rewards generated in that community. Also, you only have about 30 followers, and how many are active? So who sees your posts? This one was seen by 6 so far.

Upvoting others and interacting with comments will help.

As for the "messenger" aspect, there is this Steemit Chat : https://steemit.chat/home . It is not integrated directly yet though.

And of course, you have to create quality content.

And, payouts are going down due to the price of Bitcoin and altcoins going down.

Keep going, post more, share posts to Facebook, get them to signup.
