Bitcoin, stolen from the stock exchange cryptocurrency ShapeShift began to move.

In March 2016, an unknown hacker with a corrupt employee of the company, stole more than $ 230,000 in bitcoin in exchange ShapeShift. Most of the stolen bitcoin was not returned, and the identity of the perpetrator has not yet been established.

General director of the company, Erik Voorhees (Erik Vorhess), kept the public informed of developments during and after the attack.

Mixing transactions to confuse traces

June 30 stolen funds were transferred into two separate addresses. One address was $ 205.666, and the other $ 654. Each address shows two transactions: the supply of money in the account and the subsequent transfer to two new address. It seems that this operation is repeated endlessly, so as each new transaction is split into two and transferred to two new empty address. This is likely to confuse traces.

All transactions bitcoin available for public viewing on blokcheyn. But-like bitcoin addresses are not linked to a real person's name, and the new address is easy to set up, it allows you to hide the money transfers. Services for mixing cryptocurrency produce additional exchanges between a plurality of different addresses, so as to hide the address of the sender and the recipient. Cryptocurrency Dash has a built-in function to confuse transaction.

ShapeShift Exchange continues

Once a hacker attack, ShapeShift Exchange leadership has promised to fix the system. Cash customers remained intact, and the exchange infrastructure has been restored
