Steemit Name Challenge: My Entry
I feel so honoured being nominated by my dear @emem for this #steemitnamechallenge. I love how these challenges just keep cropping up from different cryptic places to eventually viral itself round the “steemit-sphere”. It’s indeed fun to be part of a fun challenge like this. How else could a blog be “dryless” if one doesn’t throw one’s hat in such challenges.
Here are the rules of this challenge
•Tell us your real name
•Give a story about your username
•If you were to change your Steem username, what would you change it to?
•Use the tag #steemitnamechallenge so your entry can be easily traced.
•Nominate 5 friends.
•Tell us your real name
My name is Emmanuel Omisade. The surname(omisade) literally in english could be interpreted as crown made of water
•Give a story about your username
Hmmm.. ( sighs)... Well, if life has taught me something, it is that everything happens for a reason. My steemit username was one of a deja vu ; a kind of an unconscious response to a previously experienced event.
I spent most of my waking hours on nairaland.com, the haven I would say I cut my teeth of online interactions and association from.
Nairaland is an online social forum for Nigerians both home and abroad. What's so amazing about the forum is that you would always just wish to be a Nigerian every second of every time of every day you spend there. And that's because of the grip it has on one's sense of belonging.
The forum exposed me to all sorts of things and people. The witty, the troll, the business enthusiast, the preying scammers and all sorts of personalities.
Registering as a member on the forum became a whim at once after 2 weeks of being a guest and I chose my username as the alias I bore at the university, No, not lemmybe. And I won’t tell either.
Suddenly, on the site, I felt a nudge of desire to go incognito like the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto leaving people with more of imagination of whom I could be.
My aim was to be controversial as much as possible, creating arguments from the air and not giving up. And at such times I see I'm about to lose, I refer them to the name to argue with.
Then I proceeded to creating a new account and suddenly on impulse, the name lemmybe came to my head.
But as the universe would have it, I never got to use the name and implement those things because life happened in a way that I got busy along the line. My schedules became so stiffened with lots of activities. And I could only watch as I slowly forgot the account password.
But, I retained the name eventually and only register the name on impulse on any new website that demands registration. The practical evidence brought to bear was telling my boss @samstickzz to let me be when he wouldn’t stop talking about steemit in the group then. Now, I won’t let him be for EOS.
•If you were to change your Steemit username, what would you change it to?
I wouldn't even give it a thought to. The lemmybe is funny and gets your attention at first sight. isa love at first sight thingy
•Use the tag #steemitnamechallenge so your entry can be easily traced.
Used already, I suppose
•Nominate 5 friends.
