It's game week 2 in Belgium Division A and here is how it stands after the first round of games:-
It was a non-winning start for both our featured clubs last week with Eupen at least getting a 2-2 draw away from home in an exciting game against the mighty and defending Champions, Club Brugge. If not for a Club Brugge equaliser deep into injury time, they'd have taken all 3 points.
This was a shock result but totally deserved. Eupen played with attacking flair and were not at all intimidated by playing their opening game at the red-hot favourites and current Champions and are surely going to take a load of confidence and swagger into today's game against another of the giant Belgium institutions, this time in front of their no doubt vociferous home crowd.
Anderlecht started the season with a very disappointing home lose, 1-3 against minnows, Union St. Gillose . Ex Man. City captain and current Anderlecht manager is going to have nip this sort of form in the bud immediately to keep both the support of the board and the fans if he is to keep his job.
Anderlecht have made wholesale changes to the squad during the close season and no doubt need time to gel but its too their more experienced players in the middle of the park that they are going to have to rely on to provide some steel in breaking up the flurry of no doubt endless Eupen attacks.
