Dear friends,

In your adventures, have you ever been in a place where all people use an alien language? Here in Steemit, are there statements you'd like to say to your groupmate but you can't say immediately because you're "nosebleeding?"

There are times that we wanna gain a lot of friends from different countries, but we can't do it instantly because we are hesitant if your statement is good or bad and we're shy.

Explaining of "nose-bleed," it's a Filipino expression as confusing lines by the speaker to his listener. In short, the listener cannot understand the dialogue of the one that talks. The other side's nose is bleeding for thinking too much what the speaker is trying to say. If you're not a Filipino and you'll meet one that responds "nose-bleed," clearly he doesn't understand the message. This term does not literary point out a real bleeding incident but it's a witty language label for most Filipinos.

Have you ever been in a place where all are foreigners and all your teammates in the game speak a different dialect? Later, you're injured. How can you tell them the issue immediately if you don't know their language? Are you nose-bleeding? LoL

Oftentimes, we always experience difficulty in explaining our thoughts if there is a language barrier. We have limitations. In person, if the speaker is nosebleeding, he usually uses verbal languages, uses body language, at ease in hand gesture, and uses various facial expressions.

Now, in your house, find a partner. Assume that you're a foreigner and new in the place. You're in a pharmacy but you want to ask the counter about the medicine you want to buy, but you cannot find it. How can you open a conversation?

Not just the physical movements problems if we are "nosebleed," our partner can hear us using these sounds and syllables: "uhhmm, uhhhhm, ah, ah, hmm, hmm, oh, oh, eek, eek." Instead of using all these, keep calm and use the normal words you use habitually.

How to Avoid Nosebleeding?

If we always consider the person's statement, we will surely gain an idea what to say next. Just remember if we watch a movie with an interesting dialogue, try to focus on statements:

  • Is the statement informative? What information are those?
  • Have you seen a direction in a statement? Is the statement created to provide direction?
  • Are there cause and effect substances of the statement?
  • Is the statement made to provide an entertainment?

Knowing the substance and goal of the speaker may give way that we can understand and follow the dialogue easily.
