Himalayan cedar, whose scientific name is cedrus deodara, is a species of cedar native to the Himalayas.

Also called deodar cedar or deodar, it is a large evergreen conifer with a height of 40 to 50 meters and a trunk diameter of up to 3 meters.

The leaves are needle-like, mostly 2.5 to 5 cm long, narrow, and about 1 mm thick. The color varies from light green to blue-gray green.

Himalayan cedar is in high demand as a building material because of its durability, dense grain, rot resistance, and high polishability.
