Chinese elm, whose botanical name is ulmus parvifolia, is a species native to East Asia, including China, India, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam.

Also lacebark elm, the leaves are small, glossy green, leathery, single-toothed, 2 to 5 cm long and 1 to 3 cm wide.

The wood is primarily used for veneers, cabinets, furniture, hardwood floors, and special applications such as tool handles and longbow construction.

Chinese elm is a strong and durable landscape tree often used in harsh situations such as squares, patios, small planters along roadsides, and parking lots.
