Hello Steemit, I Am...

...Frank, but I have chosen the user name le-pendu for my Steemit posts. It means "The Hanged Man", and is famous as a Tarot card. In my youth I wrote a piece of theater using music, dance and lighting called Death's Crown, and that piece was eventually renamed The Hanged Man. Thus my affinity for the title, and the more symbolic underpinnings it conjurs up.

I have arrived at the autumn of my life and felt it might be of some interest to recall and share some of my stories. I have written and performed in a progressive rock band, worked hard at my occupations as a cabinet maker/carpenter/builder and an audiophile speaker designer and builder. I lived over a decade on a beautiful island in the Pacific diving, fishing and sailing. I may write of my discovery of crypto currency and building machines for mining different coins. Probably most importantly it seems important for me to share stories of my ongoing battle with cancer, that ominous life changer and taker, and perhaps some of the philosophical musings I find myself pondering as my story's end approaches.

I considered trying to write a book about my experiences, but did not think I had the skills to pull it off, nor the confidence that such an undertaking would even be merited, so I put that idea aside. Finding Steemit has inspired me to give blogging a try, and hopefully find the ability to put some of these "moments" into words. Time will tell how that works out, but here am I, and happy to be a part of the Steemit community.
