Common housefly on a leaf
The housefly (Musca domestica) is a species of fly that belongs to the suborder Cyclorrhapha, which means "house fly family." It is thought to have evolved during the Cenozoic Era, presumably in the Middle East, and has since spread around the world as a commensal of humans. It is not known where it originated. It is the most frequent type of fly that can be found in residences.
