Lisbon Alfama - Red Monday

The Alfama is the oldest district in Lisbon and with it's historic buildings, including a 12th century cathedral, narrow streets, and red roof tops, the area is a fascinating place to explore. The contrast between the pale colors of the buildings and the vibrant roof tops really make the red stand out and grab your attention.

Looking out from the São Jorge Castle towards the Tejo River, the Alfama fills your view between the green along the slopes below the castle and the waters of the river.
