Tech-Diary game / Celebrating the International women's day /8th,March, 2022

Hello friends, hope everyone is doing well. Happy women's day to all SIZ ladies and I hope everyone is enjoying it well.

THIS IS HOW I SPENT MINE.
I decided to celebrate my day by attending a rotaract project. This was put forward by the rotaract club where am a member. I woke up early at around 6:00am, I had to keep time because the project had to start around 8:30 am.
I was on the hurry because the place was a bit far and there was a possibility of finding traffic jam.

I reached at the place at around 9:30am, I thought I was the last person but actually, I was early, only found the president. The project was on fishing landing site at Luzira_Portbell. The activities we did there included; general cleaning of the place, skill development, legal knowledge, finance literacy among others.

The people were busy but eventually they came one by one, and the tents got full. People were introduced to the main activities we were to teach them. There everyone started joining group of where there interest was. For instance, many men joined the finance literacy and women were taught how to make reusable pads.

We also taught them on how to make liquid soap so that they can have other income apart from fishing, selling fish among others.

Let me share the steps here,
First the ingredients we used included;
_ ungalo
_ Urea
_Sulphonic acid
_ perfume
_ color
_ water
The materials we used included ; two jerry cans two basins, two small buckets, stirring sticks.

Sulphonic acid was prepared in one Basin and ungalo was also in another Basin. Urea was dissolved in the small bucket and was mixed with Ungalo. Salt which was in powder form was dissolved in the acid. Then the two mixtures were added together. Perfume and the color were added, the color was green so the mixture turned green. Lastly, water was added slowly while we were stirring to the thickness we wanted.
After, we were done and everyone was sure that they had all the steps in their heads, they were eager to get the finished made liquid soap. They started bringing bottles to take some soap.

Then we gave out scholastic materials to the people by reading the names we recorded in the book. They were happy for the opportunities they got, and also some got a chance to be taken to vocational institutions.

After this project I was happy to participate, it really feels good to help others and am glad to be part of Rotary family. Then we bought fish and also went to boat to enjoy the evening..
