What is worse?

"Every form of addiction is bad, no matter whether the narcotic be alcohol or morphine or idealism." - Carl Jung

I live in a country where abundance of alcohol in enormous quantities is generally accepted. According to data from 2010, Croatia was the 20th in the world by the amount of alcohol consumed per capita. Just to remind you, that's the 20th place out of possible 191. Cheers. Everyone is drinking , small, young, old and I do not see that this trend is going down. In Croatia alcohol is relatively inexpensive, and without some major difficulties it can come in the hands of juveniles. In addition, in Croatia, a phenomenon called "cajka" is spreading for years now, let's call it redneck ethno or down dumbing of people. Poor music and cheap wine. Zagreb was once the capital in culture of this region, and today we are becoming a huge village.

From alcohol, that is legal in nearly 90% of the world and alcohol-related diseases, in 2012, 3 300 000 people died. That's roughly 6% of all global deaths.

On the other hand, heroin, which is illegal in 99% of the world, takes about 190,000 lives annually. But what is interesting, in many countries heroin becomes legal. At present, we have an opiate crisis in America because their doctors share opiate drugs all over the place. These are mostly pain medications, Oxycontin, Percocet, Tylenol... So now we have a large part of the American nation, which is addicted to legal heroin. The problem arises when a patient no longer has the option of paying these "medicines", so they go to a cheaper illegal heroin from the street. The circle is closed.

What mainstream media doesn't want to say is, that it's heavier and more risky to get someone from alcohol, then heroin.

I would love to share with you this great documentary about a young man who decides to go to rehab.

One recent study in Great Britain has shown a range of dangers, to which they came across with a large number of criteria. At that hazard scale of 100, alcohol was at 72, heroin at 55, crack at 54. Alcohol leads to more deaths than all other drugs combined.

And don't forget that most of the benefit from alcohol has your government. Check the tax on alcohol in your country. Of course, they also benefit from legal heroin, whose prices from the pharmacies far outweigh the price of heroin on the street, and we all know how much the pharmacy trade margins are. So, they are legaly killing us and making good money with it.

But there is a solution to both problems, and to that in some other post.

Thanks for reading.
