Funny story! I hear this about Finns a lot. Strangely enough, the few Finns that I know are exceptionally social.. super outgoing and assertive. Maybe I am just lucky to befriend them so easily. It could also have something to do with the fact that they all either worked in international companies or have studied abroad, so adopted some new social skills. Who knows?! Funny article though!
Are they young? Actually you can find exceptional cases in younger generation of Finns. I was a tutor for exchange students and I was in a car with a Swiss, French and Catalonian guy and I was the most talkative one of all four.
That was a confusing moment, as I had assumed the others would be.. louder?

Ahh, cultural stereotypes...
But they are in their 25-30s, so you might be right about the younger generations!
