Black Panther is the first film in the Marvel film universe that focuses on a colored superhero: the African prince turned king T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman), also known as the Black Panther. As in all superhero movies, there is a lot of violence, in this case, a brutal body-to-body combat that becomes quite intense, with bloody wounds and even deaths. Although there are some shootings with superpowers guns / cannons (as well as some cold-blooded murders), most of the action includes fights of spears and knives. That said, some confrontations include larger and more explosive battles and very destructive car chases.

Language and sexual content are pretty minimal: a few uses of "sh-t" and "hell" and a couple of quick kisses.

Located primarily in the fictional African nation of Wakanda, the film features not only the first cast of mostly black actors in the history of the superhero movie (Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Danai Gurira and Daniel Kaluuya), but also an exclusively female royal guard and a brilliant inventor/engineer. Families who see Black Panther will have a lot to talk about afterwards, from their description of race and gender to the overall importance of having black superheroes as main characters, rather than sidekicks.

The film is directed by Ryan Coogler, North American director who after several short films directed Fruitvale Station (2013), a social drama that won the best film award and the public prize at the Sundance festival. Two years later, he managed to convince Sylvester Stallone to give birth to the project Creed (2015), a Spin-off of the mythical Rocky Balboa saga that focuses on Adonis Johnson, the son of Apollo Creed, who was his biggest rival and some of his best friends outside the ring. The film achieved great success at the box office and the recognition of critics, among other awards and nominations, was an Oscar nomination as best supporting actor for Stallone himself, who also participated as a producer in the film.

WHAT'S THE STORY?
After a folktale prologue that tells the story of the fictional African nation of Wakanda, BLACK PANTHER opens with a flashback to 1992, when a young T'Chaka (Atandwa Kani) makes a surprise visit to Oakland, California, to face a rogue Spy from Wakandan Back in the present, T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman) is preparing for his coronation day, which includes a potential challenge - through ritual combat - of any of the five tribes of Wakanda, as well as a sacred ceremony in which he officially becomes the nation's black panther. After T'Challa takes the throne, intelligence comes up that the famous arms dealer Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis) has stolen a vibranium artifact of the British Museum. T'Challa takes his main warrior, the head of the royal guard, General Okoye (Danai Gurira), and his former love, Nakia (Lupita Nyong'o), a spy from Wakandan, to try to capture Klaue (one of the few outsiders). who knows the truth about how much vibranium, the most valuable metal on Earth, is available in Wakanda). But CIA agent Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and Klaue's mysterious young ally (Michael B. Jordan) complicate the mission. It turns out that the mysterious man is an old SEAL that has a very personal score to solve with T'Challa and the Wakandans.
