Ocean's 8 | Review

in #entertainment8 years ago (edited)

A few months ago I made a post related to the trailer of the film and said that I would go running to the cinema to see it, because I loved a lot of these women, so I had to go to the movies to see them and that's how it was. But going to see the film has no emotion if you are not accompanied; coincidentally our friend @mariana4ve was on birthday this Monday, June 18 and a group that we nicknamed Team Carabobo (because we all live in the same state) we met to see this movie and it was really a pretty fun experience. This post will be a little different, because in addition to reviewing the film I will tell you the experience of a day full of laughter.

Debbie Oceans (Sandra Bullock) just got out of jail after 5 years locked up, but during all that time she was focused on planning the perfect scam, so she meets her friend Lou (Cate Blanchet) and they start planning the theft of a Cartier necklace valued at 150 million dollars that will be modeled by Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway) at the MET gala; for this they will have the fashion designer Rose Weil (Helena Bohan-Carter), who will dress the actress and convince her to use the necklace to be able to unfold her grand theft plan during the gala and together with the rest of the scammers.

The films type coral are this type of films where most of the actors are movie stars (or music stars), tend to be a representative number of actors and actresses so that one gets excited with each appearance; For me it was like that since I saw the trailer months ago. Among these and as I said are Sandra Bullock (Maximum speed, Miss Sympathy), Cate Blanchett (Elizabeth, Blue Jasmine), Anne Hathaway (Les Miserables, Eldiario of the princess), Sarah Paulson (12 years of slavery, The archives of the pentagon), Rihanna (Batleship), Mindy Kaling (The Office), Awkwafina (Damned Neighbors 2), and the great Helena Bonham Carter (The King's Speech, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix). There will also be the participation of James Cordem (Peter Rabbit, Trolls), as the insurance agent who reviews the history of the stealing of the necklace.

The direction and the script was in charge of Gary Ross (The games of the hunger, Seabiscuit), the plot was quite good and coordinated as it could be a film of the franchise and also quite entertaining and with a perfect final turn, made the reservation that debbie is the sister of Danny Oceans (George Clooney) and the only thing that could disappoint me is that I did not see any cameo from any of the actors in the previous films. I can say that the performances were as brilliant as expected, Sandra and Cate perfect, Anne Hathaway impeccable in that role of unbearable star and Helena, it goes without saying, but it was great. And Rihana, because she did not have to act much, it seemed to me that she only posed so that we would not realize how bad an actress she is, so each of the actresses played an appropriate role. The other thing I did see is that practically all of them replaced the personalities of the male versions in Ocean's Eleven, so that would be the only thing I could protest by not giving new personalities to these women who did it quite well.
