Sand, Surf and Sun.. More fun in Dahican
Dahican Beach in Mati City has the basic ingredients for a perfect vacation in Davao Oriental. Its long stretch of powdery white sand shore was an exceptional view. Its turquoise blue water is hypnotic but relaxing. Its big waves are so inviting. And most of all, its 7 kilometer stretch of shoreline will give you the feel of a simple, yet, harmonious lifestyle away from the stressful city.
So what exactly is the fun?
ENJOYING THE SAND
With its long shoreline, taking a walk at the sun-kissed powdery sand isn't just a good exercise, it can also be a vitamin for your eyes. The view is very raw and classic. You can witness how fishermen do their daily routine. From pulling off their small boats into the sea up until docking back to the shores while their family is excitedly running towards them. You can witness how kids are enjoying the simplest life they have at the beach. They need not have internet and gadgets to enjoy themselves because their playground is the sea.
LEARNING HOW TO SURF
The waves are inviting you, will you gave in? Dahican is the home of the Surfing Champ Sonny Boy "Bayogyog" Aporbo. Dahican is also where you can see him do his practice. If you'd like to learn the basics of surfing and/or skim boarding, the amihan boys offers a surfing lesson for the aspiring surfers and skim boarders alike. You can avail their 1 hour 1 on 1 basic surfing lesson. If you are lucky enough, the champ itself might be your instructor. If you have limited budget, you can settle with renting a skim board and learn to ride it on your own. That's more fun doing with your friends.
WORSHIPPING THE SUN
I love watching sunrise and sunset. Witnessing the sky slowly changing hues late afternoon and waking up early in the morning with a cup of hot coffee, waiting for the sun to rise is among the best experience you can have.
But wait there's more!
How about playing beach volley ball?
Or playing some reggae vibes with your guitar?
Or play billiards?
Or become a chef and cook your favorite food?
Maybe do a photo shoot?
Do a pa-bebe wave?
Or just be LAZY!!!
Whatever you do, wherever you go, have fun doing it and you will surely have very memorable trip. So yeah, it's definitely more fun in Dahican and the Philippines...
