Just another time about gender roles

 I have promised to give up speaking on this subject many times, but my heart has swelled with hurt and anger again. The Internet is full of silly articles about “women’s natural destination”, “hearth-keepers”, and similar nonsense. Think logically yourself – how can “hearth-keeping” be a natural destination? When peoples were completely natural beings, of course, there weren’t any “hearths” yet. This is just an imposed social role, ingrained in the culture.

 When I'm reading the next babbling about “destinations”, which consist in performing the work of a nanny, a maid, a snot wiper for little (and quite adult) boys and so on, I’m feeling annoyed. It's time for the girls to understand – they have none “sacred destinations”, everything here is strictly individual – if you like to do it, do. And if you don’t, well, you can send all this to hell. Please, do not feel defective due to the fact that you have another specialization in life.

 Particularly annoying are comments of guys – like “you, girl, go and cook borsch”. So, in fact, why the hell should I do this? I’ve studied at the university for five years, and now some slowcoach declares that I must be a born a cook. A housekeeper is a profession, no less respected than others. But if you have another specialty, house-keeping is nothing more than a favor to your relatives or at the very best – a hobby or even an occupation, business; ultimatum demands are inappropriate here. And no one is allowed to make it.

 So, dear girls! Think carefully before realizing your “natural destinations” (especially before following advises of stereotypically thinking relatives and acquaintances) – do you really need it? Desires are sometimes dangerous just because they come true. And in case this desires haven’t been exactly yours... One day you will find yourself at the hearth, which you have to keep, with a ladle in your hand and surrounded by whining “destinations”, and you will feel an unbearable longing for your favorite business!

 P.S. Imposed stereotype roles can be annoying for boys, too. Naturally, they have the full right to throw them out of their life. The sex does not matter here. I wish everyone freedom and fulfillment of true dreams!
