Bat House
Help the bat population in your area by building a bat house and hanging it somewhere high up on the farm. There are many different plans on the internet. This one only took a couple of hours to build in the workshop last winter and was put up this spring. We did see a couple of bats flying around this summer for the first time but not sure if they were using the bat house. A brown bat can eat up to 100 percent of their body weight each night, which is around 1/2 ounce. They can consume up to 1,200 insects per hour including mosquitoes.
Anything that eats mosquitoes is a friend to us. Their a big part of Mother Nature's pest control team.
We have mosquitoes pretty bad. Putting this on the pre spring to do list. Thank you @lacostas!
Your very welcome.
