In last part, we've talked about some of the best games ever released and GTA 5 was definitely one of them. GTA 5 had set up a standard for modern open world games. Almost every new open world based are compared to GTA 5 after their release. And GTA 5 still manages to hold out till date in terms of graphics. The graphics of this game was just too good. That's why even after a decade this game is still playable.
Some of the very popular games got released between 2015 - 2016. A game released between this timeframe is considered one of the most popular games of all time. It is still played by many players. Let's get in to more details...
2015
The Witcher 3 : Wild hunt was the most popular game that got released on 2015. This is an action based role play game which sets in an open world fantasy world. The protagonist of this game is a monster hunter for hire. The visuals of this game is stunning. And the graphics of this game also very good if not the best. There are choices that affects the gameplay and the story of the game. This feature was also seen in The Walking Dead: Season 1 game.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt had won several GOTG awards over the years. It received the most awards in 2015, the year it got released. Which is why this game is often considered the best game for 2015. As of 2022, this game has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. Another game got released this year but it was overshadowed by the Witcher's success. For me that game was more fun to play that this one.
2015 [Part 2]
Batman Arkham Knight was the best game of 2015 for me. This game was super fun to play. The open world experience of this game is one of the best I've ever seen. The graphics are much better than Witcher 3. This game is the conclusion of the famous Arkham series. There are 3 games in total in this series. And the story of the caped crusader ends in Arkham Knight. This game is developed by Rocksteady Studios. The improved combat system, graphical improvements and the feature to drive the batmobile were the best features of this game. The boss battles were lacking innovation in this game. This game could have been absolutely a bomber if the developers gave that some more attention. Other than that, this is a great game and I wanted this to be the game of the year for 2015. But sadly this game didn't get much props. To me, this is one of the most underrated games of all time. Gliding around a ruined Gotham city and beating thugs in to a pulp is a treat for a Batman fan like me.
Batman Arkham Knight sold over 5 million copies worldwide as of 2022. The numbers are quite low for a game like this tbh. But there is no denying that this game has one of the best gameplay and is still playable till this date.
2016
Overwatch is a first person shooter game similar to Valorant. You have to play as teams in this game the same way as Valorant. This game is developed by Blizzard Entertainment. The game takes place in a futuristic world with a lots of hero to choose and play with. Each heroes have their own unique abilities which gives you the upped hand in various scenarios. This game is mostly liked due to its colorful atmosphere and art style. The dynamic and fast paced action surely gives the player a good first person shooting experience.
Overwatch received numerous awards and is considered the Game of the Year of 2016. This game had the most hype in 2016 for sure and it did live up to it. This game sold over 50 million copies worldwide as of 2022. These numbers tells that this was one successful game.
