Steemit, MSP and Me!

in #minnow8 years ago (edited)

Everyone has different reasons for coming to steemit, some come here to make a fast buck...some in order to better their writing skills while others just to read quality content. For me, steemit is a mix of two things...one being a place where I can better my writing content and share my thoughts. What I mean with that is...to me steemit is more like an online journal where I can talk about whatever it is that I like or dislike and get to know other people's opinions of it.

The second reason why I use steemit is that I want to be able to experience making cash...not a lot but as much as I can. I am not bothered by the fact that some posts make very little money while others make a lot. I just want to do it for fun and still get something out of it.

You know there are a lot of people out there who just come to steemit, post spam content and even plagiarize content from others thinking they can make money with it but that's not how it works. I read a few posts on steemit today, talking about people getting disappointed with the number of users that are coming here and posting spam. That is something one cannot avoid in any platform, there is no way to restrict a user from just posting a one liner and a picture.

In my honest opinion, I think it must have been something that they liked and really wanted to share with the world...who knows? right?. Anyways I am getting a bit off topic here...I wanted to talk about my experience so far on steemit and a very helpful community that I found MSP.

What is MSP? It is minnow support program and some people introduced me to it on the same day that I made my first post on Steemit. The people at minnow support program wanted to help minnows who were starting out and get themselves settled on this platform. For us minnows when we are starting out, it is really difficult to get a good follower base and I don't want to be running around asking people to follow me or vice versa. I want to focus on the writing part and build an organic followership.

People at MSP had been very helpful at that especially my friend @sammosk, who at the time I joined steemit...I didn't know was part of the program. Once again, through him I learned a lot, I learned about steemit and how it works...what the MSP program is and why it is there.

It isn't there to benefit them but to benefit us small fishes against those who have more power here; the whales and the dolphins. Sometimes one person can easily feel disappointed when they see that their precious posts are not getting any appreciation but the people at MSP has always helped me out by telling me how I should improve myself.

How I can get myself to find good audiences and not only that...they have also helped me to slowly rise out of being a minnow. I am still a minnow but with a helping hand, hopefully, one day I will be a dolphin and maybe...just maybe a whale who can go on to help others with the MSP program.

I'm glad you are here and look forward to seeing you grow into a dolphin and maybe a whale!! <3

Thanks for sharing.

Thank you bro :) I am looking forward to that as well. I have learned a lot from you, master <3

@drotto, thank you mate :)

Interesting post, i'm finding that Steemit is giving me motivation to be creative, and to express myself more. I also want to learn how to improve my writing skills, but I think that'll take time.

Thanks for sharing...

@dpol, now worries...all good things take time there is no shortcut to anything in my opinion. Keep doing your best and you will begin to improve. :)

nice bro, your writing always pay my attention.. keep up a great job and I have learned from you.. thanks

Thank you bro. I hope I can keep writing and eventually become even better than I am. Keep writing too and let me know if you ever need any help :) @cpoer2011

I like your post, I know about MSP, but I'm shy to ask questions there cos I don't want it to look like I don't anything about Steemit.... I really don't, (what are hardforks?). Is there a particular channel for asking questions?

You could always come on over at the discord channel to ask all the questions that you have. You don't have to be scared or shy. People there don't bite :P

Lol, Okie dokie

Hey man, great post!

It's great to see that you're achieving your goals each and every step of the way.

And for the second part, in my opinion, most people who quit or spam on steemit has the wrong mindset. They think that when they join here, it's easy bucks just to post and post or spam like crazy and God yeah, plagiarism and if it doesn't work, they just leave.

I hope in the near future, the system can detect plagiarism or spam better and remove the post then give warning to the account.

Cheers man!

Cheers man! yeah hopefully in the future the platform will have better detection but the users can also curate a post and if they find it to be plagiarized then they can just flag it. Thanks for reading mate. :)

You're welcome my friend.

Yeah, that's the good thing about the people here, they can find plagiarized contents to help remove those.

I remember when I was new here, about a month ago, there's a Filipina who posted about her problems and stuff so a lot of people helped her and then a few days or a week later, someone re-posted the same exact content with the same pics.

Didn't know what happened to the account but based on the people in Discord, I think the post got removed.

We should always be vigilant and look out for each other.

Cheers!

Yes bro we should do that :)
