Why do teachers assess their students?
Hello steemians, this week is so fruitful even I had lots of absents due to some personal reasons but I was able to do all the things intended to be done for this week.
Today, I feel like sharing with you the reasons why do teachers assess their students?
According to Meriam, "Assess means to make a judgement about something." This means that after the demonstration or lecture, the teacher should determine the learnings of their students through varied strategies like practical exam, long quiz or oral recitation.
What is really the importance of assessment?
Im sure you know the feeling of butterfly in ones stomach, nervousness, and anticipation upon taking an assessment. Did you really listen to your teachers and taking down notes the day when they had their lecture? Did you value the essence of studying the day before the assessment?
Assessment as they say say is really a critical step in the learning process. It determines whether you really understand the lesson. It is design so that the students know their progress and will able to double time those topic they wasn't able to answer.
Why is assessment important?
It provides diagnostic feedback.
It is really important I guess especially to those students who are vying for honors. They need to know their progress and what area they got lower scores so that by next time they will double time it.It helps motivates performance.
Once an educator know their progress through an assessment especially when they got the good performance, eventually they will motivately perform so that by next time they will get the best performance again. It improves learning.
The time you know you have the best performance, you are eager to learn more and listen to your teacher attentively.
We teachers as well are assessed by our heads. It is a good thing because they always inspire us and give us some strategies for us to have a better class next time.
Thank you for your time steemians and have a rainy saturday...
Very good schooling
