NATIONAL HEROES DAY CELEB
Good day steemians!
August 28, 2023 is the day where we were celebrating National Heroes Day. It is a holiday here in Philippines to commemorate and remember our Filipino Heroes.
The National Heroes Day started from the Cry of Pugad Lawin in August 1896 which marks the start of the Philippine Revolution.
But this celebration not only focuses on our Heroes back then but also to our modern heroes esp the Overseas Filipino Workers, teachers as well as the frontline workers during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
During that day, we the teachers as well as the government workers were asked to convene in Mactan Shrine around 6 in the morning for a short program after the Raising of Flag. One of the guest were our active Lapu-Lapu City Mayor together with his loving wife/the City Congressman and the Vice-President/Deped Secretary Indai Sara Duterte. They made a speech about the celebration.
Unfortunately, it rain even the sun is rising but it didnt stop the celebration. We still continue it until we finished the program.
We started around 6 in the morning and we ended at 8:30 in the morning.
On our way to the gate, we bumped on the daughter of the Mayor so we took the opportunity to take a photo. And she was so approachable and allowed us to do it.
To sum up, the celebration went well and we went home with a happy heart.
