SHOW SCRIPT - ROMANCE ON THE AIR - 24 DECEMBER 2017

PLAY FOR YOUR LOVE BY DR VICTOR.

Hope: GREET EVERYONE: HI everyone that is tuned in. A warm welcome to this very special Romance on the Air broadcast on Christmas Eve. We feel so blessed to share this special time with you. As it is Christmas Eve we decided to play you some Christmas love songs. We hope you will enjoy it with us.

Kubby: intro and random chatter. Do your thing.

SONG 1

In this week when I sat down to write my blog I was thinking about the giving spirit of Christmas time and I wanted to write something about giving in your marriage. When I started to do research on the internet to my surprise I saw that you find givers and takers in marriages.

What is is a Giver?
A Giver wants to take care of others, make sure others are well. In a relationship they always want to do things for their partners, what gifts to buy, what surprises to plan, asking "what else can I do for you, my love?" Givers are awesome people and everybody loves to have them around as they understand a relationship as an opportunity to give and take care.
If Givers are unhappy in a marriage they end up thinking that there is something wrong with them. They will struggle to understand what went wrong as they tried so hard to make it work.

Kubby: Share your family story.

SONG 2

What is a Taker?
Not difficult to know what a Taker is, the name says it all. It is people who put their interests first and are very selfish. If they need people to reach their goals and have their needs met, they will treat people well. They can be very charming and charismatic. If you are married to a Taker you would feel exhausted in the end as he/she is taking all you have to offer. Takers may discard you if they feel they no longer need you.

SONG 3
So looking at the above about Givers and Takers, I think we can imagine what a marriage will be if one partner is exclusively a Giver and the other one exclusively a Taker. So the ideal will be that both partners will be Givers. When a marriage works, even Takers will be focused on giving. Both partners may give differently but they should at least be willing to support each other without expecting something in return. A relationship in which both partners always care for each others’ needs and have their partner's best interest in mind will be the most successful and sought-after relationship.

SONG 4

If you recognize yourself as a Taker, good for you for being so honest. That is a good start. If you are not married yet it will be in your best interest to find yourself a Giver as they make excellent spouses; or if you are married to a Giver already, you have to remember two things:
Givers will eventually become tired and feel misused and very unhappy if you don't support them as they support you. Your spouse may even leave you.
Givers usually are people who end up the happiest and most successful if they watch out that Takers don't take too much advantage of them. The Giver's lifestyle that comprises of kindness and service usually leads to a greater personal fulfilment, health and happiness. If you want to be happy and successful, strive to become a Giver.

SONG 5

Especially in this season of giving, zoom in on your spouse's needs and try to be a Giver and see how your spouse will start to even give more in return. Discover how giving will make you feel good. How contributing to the happiness of the ones you love will make you happy in return.
When you are Giver it is not so easy to receive. Lots of times Givers may feel unworthy of a compliment, a kind act, or an unexpected gift. So Givers need to also receive graciously. Accept that act of kindness, that surprise or that gift and just say "thank you." You will get your chance again to give.

SONG 6

Kubby wrote a beautiful post this week about a married man guarding his heart and his eyes against temptations and staying faithful. Read the poem called, Promise of the ring by clicking the name or read below.

To the married man,
You’ve done quite well. I see your efforts. You look at your wife and see her. You look at the young executive and don’t. Despite the tight skirt, low cut shirt, and brilliant mind. You listen, more than allow your eyes to wander. I wonder if your eyes will lust after more.
Exchanging speech, will this be your downfall?
Convincing speech, she’s educated and your eyes stay focused. You’ve done quite well.
I see your efforts. I see respect. I find you proud.
Dear married man,
Your eyes do not wander for lust. Steadfast, even your speech doesn’t flirt. I see you winning. Laughing, joking, at no point would your eyes put you to shame. She calls you Husband with pride. You’ve earned your right to stand tall. In the office, your name is clear. At their expense or your own, the jokes are clean and fun for all. You’ve done quite well. I see your respect.
Dear married man,
Gaining respect with each step. You walk a straight line with eyes only for your one and only. Avoiding the fire, eliminating the game, strengthening the gold ring promise. Proving once again, that eyes can train to neither look nor touch. You’ve done quite well. I see your efforts.
I see your respect. I find you proud.

SONG 7

This bring us to my weekly blog of dating. As it is Christmas I made some Christmas dating suggestions for you and your spouse or the whole family. Click HERE to read her post.

As I do a weekly blog about keeping the romance going and to make a special time for your partner or spouse, this week I am giving fun ideas for Christmas time to make it extra special. You can make this part of your Christmas traditions. As it is a time of togetherness, you and your spouse can have fun but you can also include the kids in some of these activities.
Go to a tree lighting event.
Tree Lighting – Most cities and many towns host an annual tree lighting. Find out when it is going to be and attend this event.

Hope and Kubby share thoughts on fun activities. Is there such an event nearby?

SONG 8

Bake Christmas cookies together. If it is only you and your spouse, do it together, but it is also a great activity to enjoy with the whole family. I love to do this with my grandsons. I also used to do this with my kids, with friends, and it stands out among some of our fondest memories.

SONG 9
Go ice skating and have heaps of fun.

SONG 10

Light a fire (if you have a fireplace); otherwise just get cosy and warm and open a Christmas Eve Box. Include a new pair of PJs, a book, a board game, hot cocoa, popcorn, and a Christmas movie.

SONG 11

If you are a Christian, attend a Christmas Eve service, which always is very special and not only strengthens your bond with each other but also with Jesus Christ. It is after all His birthday that you are celebrating.

SONG 12

After the kids are sleeping, make a date to meet in the bedroom and keep "just your hat on."

SAY GOODBYE. MAY EVERYONE IN THE AUDIENCE HAVE A BLESSED CHRISTMAS EVE AND CHRISTMAS FILLED WITH LOVE, JOY, HAPPINESS AND ALL THINGS GOOD! A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! GOODBYE TILL NEXT SUNDAY, SAME TIME, THE SAME PLACE!

PLEASE PLAY OUT WITH MARY’S BOY CHILD OF BONEYM
