New Kriss knife
New Kriss knife received today. Since this is my namesake, I enjoy collecting unusual or unique ones and have almost a handful of them now.
This one has a beautiful damascus blade with amazing patterns in the steel. Not too sharp out of the package, but we'll see what kind of edge it takes. The steel seems like it will take a much better edge. The handle is tapered the wrong way for a stabbing implement, and with no guard or bolster, it seems like a solid stab into anything solid would result in the hand slipping up onto the blade (I've been watching Forged in Fire). But this is more of just a collector item and looker than actual tool for real use or competition, and some would make claim that these are built more for slashing than stabbing. I think they are suited for both. This gorgeous blade also came with a nicely handcrafted leather sheath.
Overall, very pleased with this addition to my collection, and always on the lookout for other interesting finds!

Good thought, I may do that. I've only got a few so far. That gives me an excuse to find more! "But honey, I need to expand my collection for the Steemit fans". I'm sure that will fly, lol.
