India Vs. Pakistan Champions Trophy Finale Is Like S.Korea And N.Korea Competing In A Game!
Imagine South Korea and North Korea are going against each other in a game. Be it Olympics, Basketball, Soccer, or CRICKET! Imagine the heat and the level of competition. It's won't be just a win or lose game. It would be a win or die!
India and Pakistan Rivalry
India and Pakistan rivalry dates all the way back to 1947 when the two countries got their independence and divided from British India.
Ever since there has been a total of 4 direct military conflicts occurred between the two countries, and they always seem to have diplomatic tensions.
And the rivalry isn't just political, the cricket rivalry between the two countries is considered one of the most intense sports rivalries in the world.
India and Pakitan haven't had any bilateral series since 2012 because of the diplomatic tensions. So they only face each other during neutral global tournaments. But whenever they meet, it attracts up to a billion viewers according to various TV reports. In the 2011 World Cup semi-final, it attracted around 988 million television viewers.
ICC Champions Trophy 2017
The ICC Champions Trophy is a cricket tournament, which happens every 4 years is currently being held in England. According to the ICC ODI rankings, only the top 8 teams get qualified for the tournament. For this season, we had Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. (in alphabetical order)
We are almost towards the end of this tournament, and you guessed it! It's India and Pakistan in the finals!
India
India, currently ranked 3rd in the ODIs and the defending Champions from the 2013 Champions Trophy are looking to defend their title. But this finale is happening against their rival Pakistan and they are making sure not to get into pressure or leave any loose ends. With their new captain Virat Kohli, they are looking forward on capitalizing their momentum.
Pakistan
Ranked 8th in the ODIs. The Pakistan team were being considered the underdogs before the start of the tournament. But after beating South Africa(ranked 1), Sri Lanka(ranked 7), England(ranked 4), and reaching the finals against India(ranked 3), they have proved that they are looking for dominance.

This year, the finale is scheduled for June 18 at 05:30 EST/ 09:30 GMT.
Players in both teams will face intense pressure, especially from fans. They are also threatened by extreme reactions in defeat. A limited degree of violence and public disturbances have been recorded in the past after key matches.
While we can expect plenty of broken television screens from either side, I am sure the TV retailers are looking forward to some business.
