Communicating With Bigfoot

A close family friend lived up near the Mono Basin Area of California. He grew up there at the turn of the century. This was at a time when communication and travel was not as efficient as it is today. When people lived in the wilderness they really were on their own and survival was not certain.

His family lived in a very isolated and heavily wooded area in a log cabin. During the night strange occurrences would take place. They would hear animal noises and strange banging sounds. As time progressed these sounds grew more constant and closer to their place of dwelling. One day my great grandfather tried to communicate by banding a pot and making noise back. They got a response to the banging in the form of rhythmic code.

It was well assumed that whoever they were communicating with might want food. It became a customary occurrence to bang a rhythmic code and then set out food for the unknown being. This routine continued for several months and to this day it is unknown who or what they were communicating with. Was it Bigfoot or a very smart bear?
