Understanding Your Competitors

In the process of developing your products, services and marketing strategies, you should first be able to know who your competitors are, and what they are offering. Through this, you will be able to set competitive prices and be able to come up with rival marketing campaigns.

First, you should be able to understand your competitors. The information you find out about them can be categorized into the following:

What they’re doing better than you are, that you could learn from

 If your competitors have the advantage, you need to respond and start making innovative changes. Try not to imitate. Be creative and come up with your own idea that’s even better and can add more value to your business.

What they’re doing worse than you are

 Use their flaws you have discovered to your advantage. These may be evident in their product or service and marketing or distribution.

Developing and improving on your offering and services should be a continuous process.

                                

What they’re doing the same as you are

In this circumstance, both you and your competitors need to make some changes. Evaluate your similarities. However, you shouldn’t be too complacent since your competitor may be planning on developments soon.
