A Reminder to Live
As we go about our hectic lives, it can be very easy to overlook just what makes it worth it living.
When you spend at least 10 hours in the office each day, your priorities tend to get mixed up. It’s as if you’re living each day just to prepare for work the next morning, rather than enjoying what you work for, namely; your home and your family.
With that in mind, I came up with four reminders for myself why I do what I do. Perhaps you should, too.
1) I must always remember that I am not the perfect daughter, the perfect aunt, the perfect employee, the perfect person – because there will always be someone who is “more” or “less” than I am in whatever it is that I am supposed to be. That striving for perfection can never be achieved and no one wants a perfect person because there’s no such thing.
2) I should always remember that dirt is not skin deep. Water is only going to get me wet but it will not even penetrate the skin. So I welcome whatever scenery, venue, place I may be at at any time and not be disturbed about dust and grime. Next time it rains, I should remember to take a walk in the rain… it refreshes even the soul. Likewise, I should find joy in everything, not just shopping. Rather than splurging my hard earned cash on Macy’s or Kohl’s each time I get the chance, I’ll use the time to catch up on my yoga and reading.
3) I should go back to dancing. It releases the soul and relaxes the mind, energizes the body. I also miss it.
4) Last but never the least – I should remember to give myself a lot of tender loving attention – from the food I take, to the exercise I try to do consistently, to my daily habits that should be productive and positive for mind, heart, body and soul, that I should remember when to stop to smell the roses or just sit and watch the sunset. I used to listen to a rock growing, maybe its time that I did once more. I should read more often and I should also remember to breathe.
And those of you who read and comment my posts, I just want to say THANK YOU for making my life more interesting and more colorful and I will be happy if my today`s post also reminds you about the simple pleasures in life that should be valued more than our day to day struggles, all the material stuff we can or can’t buy.. because at the end – what matters more is what we leave behind that others may learn from.

Excellent post.
All of us die, but not all of us live...
You are totally right, thank you for sharing such wise words)
Great post Kristina!
I always walk in the rain, is awesome, I don't know when, but some day I stopped carrying my umbrella.
Have fun! :)
