Black Panther - Review
This is a movie that is surrounded by a lot of hype, I can see why. This is the first Marvel film that is set in Africa, has a almost complete black cast, explores a completely different culture and environment with the introduction to Wakanda. As this futuristic country has never before been used in marvel films it means there is lots of new things to entertain the audience for example the new weapons made from vibranium (A powerful metal found only in Wakanda). This is a great movie and very different to other Marvel superhero movies, but it still contains the basic principles.
The Black Panther film's main plot is firstly crowing T'Challa after his father's death in a previous avengers movie. But it's his struggle to defend his crown from a family relative who was unknown to T'Challa. Killmonger the unknown relative who is a cousin to T'Challa wants to become king in order to arm deprived black people all over the world and cause them to uprise with the powerful vibranium weapons. T'Challa releases this will cause lots of wars across the world and fights to regain his crown.
Action scenes are great in this movie with lots of car chases and new weapons creating an intense movie. There is also a very good scene where rhinos are used as weapons by a tribe in Wakanda to fight Black Panthers allies. It delivers on all accounts of action and fight scenes throughout and rarely has a scene that doesn't have action.
But personally my favourite scenes were those with Andy Serkis' character Klaw, who brought some really excellent acting and humour to every scene, his character just seemed to enjoy doing everything, he didn't care about anything which made the humour even better.
Overall this movie does live up to the hype in some ways but I can't agree with people saying its the "best superhero film of all time". It has flaws, it's plots predictable, as a viewer i felt he and his family was never in danger plus the antagonist of the movie was quite a basic and undeveloped character. This movie isn't a must see but its a fantastic fun movie and if you have the time it will massively entertain you.
