A Short Background:

Our Sinon over here is actually a sniper badass from the anime Sword Art Online II. Although it is from the same anime, the game, or the setting is different from the previous season. After the development of the virtual reality, various games have emerged. One of them is Gun Gale Online. Well, you can guess, instead of swords, they use guns mostly.

It's good I gotta say. Doing this post makes me wanna rewatch it hehe

Step by step!

Sketch

I kinda traced this one from a scene in the anime that's why it had really small arms. I edited it afterwards so she wouldn't look like she has a huge head haha

Face

I started with the base color then shaded away~ I set the sketch to low opacity to see which goes which without the solid lines blocking the view. Coloring with the solid lines on top tend to make crooked edges when the solid lines' layer is hidden.

Once I got where the eyes, nose and mouth are placed, I completely hidden the sketch layer. I then proceeded to defining the eyes. I added a bit of white just above the lower eyelid 'cause errr well it looks cute :>

Next are the eyesss. I started with by making it darker in the parts just below the upper eyelid. Theenn some shiny spot and color dodge to make it sparkle \o/

If it can be copy pasted, copy paste! :>

Then with a solid brush, I flicked the eyelashes on.

After that, I made the lips :*

I added a little glow on the lips, then made the eyebrows on fleek! (Well, kinda)

Hair

When I first colored it, it looked dull. So I added layer after another to get that shiny look (which wasn't shiny enough apparently)

Clothes

When coloring the clothes, I use a rough brush to have that cloth texture. I adjusted the arms since it was too small on the sketch :>

Added a bit more shadows to create depth.

Gunz

It was my first time drawing a gun actually. Well, not drawing since I traced it off a scene but coloring it was just as hard. I knew how I wanted it to look like but I just couldn't figure out how. Anyhooo, here's the rest of the steps :>

After the base color, I proceeded to define it with some hard lines. Unlike faces and clothes, guns have sharp edge. Soo I thought hard lines would do the job.

Next up is shading! I simply added some shade to the parts where I think the sun won't shine :>

For some reasons, I imagined it to have a shiny white circles around the tip of the gun. I wasn't sure what I was doing but hey it looks nice! haha

If it's my first time drawing/coloring a gun, surely it is also my first time drawing/coloring a scope. I honestly had no idea how it's supposed to look like and did a bit of experimenting. Turned out okay so I'm not complaining \o/

Thenn that nice shine was done using a soft brush. I added a few glows on the lips and the tip of the nose as well :>

While I was spamming on the sketch layer's hide button, I noticed how the sketch and the adjusted arm overlapped. It created that cool effect so I decided to draw them in :D Happy accidents \o/

Next is the hand/glove. If I could add a few lines on the arms, why not on the hands too?

Other details

I adjusted the colors a bit since I wanted to get a dark kinda hiding spot look. (She's sniping. You don't snipe out in the open.)

More glow on the hair won't hurt :>

Final

I added the hair accessories lastly since I didn't think they were very necessary. I also added some skin which I kinda forgotten hehe

For the background, I made it gradient err diagonally then added some shadows. As for the 'Sinon', Bevel and Emboss effect would do the trick ;)
