Wendy's close up in Auckland, New Zealand!

in Photography5 years ago

Hey, Steemit! I’m on a productivity warpath tonight and I love it. The day was a mixed bag, and did include a short nap, but also included dumb appointment commitments. After that, though, I started writing. Finished some text/dialog layout on a page of the @coppercoins comic and updated the IndieGoGo campaign. Just made a Patreon post with new work of @ryanashley and now I’m getting a Steemit blog on the chain in the early evening […early by my standards]. @vermillionfox took @guthrie home so I have some time to myself here at @caffeto. I’m going to try and get some writing in with the new nerdy e-ink set up.

Tonight, I have some new work to share from Auckland, New Zealand. I mentioned that I was on a mission to get through New Zealand clients this week, and I’m sticking to that goal. New Zealand was the first part of the Australasia tour, and after a day of recovery, Miss Victory Violet, my friend and host, set up shoots at Shanghai Lil’s. I’d go on about how extraordinary that space is, but I’ve done plenty of gushing in previous Steemit posts. Most of the bar is comprised of the set of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. We had four dark pinup sessions schedule and one of the women was Wendy.

Wendy is a long time friend of Miss Victory Violet and has never done a professional photo shoot. She was apprehensive, but trusted us as a team to give her the photos she’d always dreamed of taking. I was more than confident, as most of my clients are first time models or have only limited shoot experience. I direct a lot, and Wendy did a great job of posing. The lenses I use are both cinematic, [50mm and 35mm], and with the elaborate backdrop and some of the beautiful wardrobe choices she brought along, we couldn’t miss.

So another set of Wendy in the bank! I’m really happy with how all of the work from this trip is turning out. It was a turning point in my career, literally shooting on the other side of the world. My beginnings are beleaguered and humbling. Shooting in Los Angeles is one thing. Still in disbelief that that ever happened, but I can’t get much further from where I grew up than Australia and New Zealand. I loved the women I met and worked with, and these are all great memories to behold. Thanks for reading. For more pinup work, follow me here @kommienezuspadt!
