Sorting my feelings while finishing work owed!

in Photography4 years ago (edited)

Hey, friends. Monday night, and I’m sort of melancholy. I’m absorbing some of the news that’s circulating. Not entirely sure how official it is, but the prospect what could be coming has me feeling nauseous. It’s been a good day up until tonight. I’m also watching a UFC Fight Night I missed Saturday and one of the fights I was really in to, ended with controversially. @guthrie, @vermillionfox and myself did manage to decorate the Christmas tree, so I’m not going to be too mopey about it. @lovejoy offered some kind words in his blog post this afternoon, and I didn’t realize at the time how much I’d need them.

I’m going to sit with my thoughts the rest of the night, and keep an ear to the ground for substance and ignore the speculation. Head down, keep working and editing, drawing and writing. I have new work to share. Earlier this year, I shot with a beautiful North Cal model named Ryder James. I had a short four day trip through to Los Angeles and after we got past the formalities of booking, she made arrangements to fly to LA to meet at the Gable’s estate in Pasadena. She met for hair and make-up earlier that morning while I was shooting with another client, and that afternoon, we met for the first time.

I remember immediately that Ryder has stunning crystal blue/green eyes, and in that moment, decided we’d try our best to find the light that would capture her spectacular feature. The mansion is enormous and over the years, I’ve learned every good space to shoot, and even what times of the day are the most effective for the photo I’m trying to make. Ryder took great direction the entire session and I was able to find posing that complimented the lamps and windows in each room. We even found a full scaled harp, which was a beautiful thing to include in the shot.

This was the last set of edits I owed Ryder, so even though I’m kind of bummed tonight, it’s satisfying to know I was able to endure and still produce something worthwhile. It’s the little bricks that build the castle. I’m excited about some work I’ll be doing on @coppercoins tomorrow. @ghostfish and I have hit the half way point. We have 16 days to make $1500 to have our campaign funded, but I think we can do it. Thanks for all your support here on Steemit. Love this platform. It’s become so important to me. Have a great night!

Really beautiful photography i appreciate it your post my dear friend. thanks for visiting my Post

Hi Lars, I think it has become a routine for you to edit photos and write on steemit before you sleep. Working before going to sleep can indeed make your sleep more sound and quality. Your model is very beautiful, sir. She also has a beautiful tattoo. Have a nice day, sir.

Beautiful girl, beautiful photos, but her tattoos are the same in each picture! Hahahaha

Been a while since I stopped by Lars! Way too long in fact. But it's great to see you are still putting out excellent content just about everyday. You're photos, still top notch!

Wish I had some extra funds these days to help with the campaign funding, but I certainly wish you the best.

My life has taken some turns, I found a lovely French girlfriend I'm now traveling the world with, we get along so well and I'm feeling very fortunate to have found her. These days we are just hanging in the gulf of Thailand on the little island of Koh Phagnan. Have you heard of it?

Next month we go to Vietnam.

Anyway, just wanted to stop by and say hello. Hope you are well and have a great day! -Dan
