Ryder on the storm!

Hey, Steemit! Just as I sat down to start this post, @tarotbyfergus waltzed through the door, back from his Arkansas travels. It was good to catch up, and I’m excited to start playing Magic: The Gathering again, but man, I got so much work finished while he was gone. I’m happy to put a major dent in the work I owe, but all work and no play makes @kommienezuspadt a dull boy, so starting tomorrow, it’ll be back to our gaming table […now back by the window]. Also, if you’ve been following me, @tarotbyfergus, @vermillionfox, @mada, @guthrie or @lovejoy, you should follow @caffetto. We just started posting on that account with @appics!

Tonight, I’m here waiting at @caffetto to meet @ghostfish. I’ve been traveling, then he’s been traveling, and we’re finally going to have a chance to catch up on @coppercoins, initiate some of the @fundition plans we’ve had in mind, and chop away at our Lovecraftian horror novella. I often feel like I’m pulled in many directions creatively, and sometimes it’s stressful, but writing and storytelling are always the mediums that feel therapeutic. The more I write, the easier it is to find that escape. When I return, I feel recharged and enthusiastic about my photography and illustration.

Speaking of photography, I am going to share some new work. Back in November […I think] I shot with a beautiful west coast pinup named Ryder James. If you haven’t already, check out my previous post from our shoot together, “Dark pinup w/ Ryder James!”. She’s a beautiful model and like I’ve said several times in Steemit blogs, having the opportunity to come back to a shoot months after the pictures were taken, is often a feeling of artistic renewal. I don’t pride myself on six month turn arounds for images, but looking at the photos with fresh eyes is a silver lining to crushing client schedule.

Ryder and I knew each other as soon as we met. It was our first time, but we just had undeniable chemistry. She took in the endless halls and rooms of original wood and furniture as we walked throughout the estate. Once we started shooting, we made our way to the study; one of my favorite rooms to shoot in the house. Low light, and rich shadows, combined with her piercing crystal blue eyes made for dramatic portraits We moved to the dining room, and after a wardrobe change, to the outside garden in a lingerie body suit that complimented the colors of blooming flowers.

I do have one more set of images with Ryder still to come. Things may slow a bit now that @tarotbyfergus has returned. Just before he left, he beat me in several games of MTG, so I have to administer some retribution, but I have four sets of shoots on deck ready to post this weekend. I’ll hopefully have some announcements regarding @coppercoins and Steemian vs. “The Bear” has been a nagging project I want to spend more time on. The ideas for that fun little comic just don’t stop.
