KADAVAR live in Minneapolis!
Hey, Steemit/@threespeak! This day hasn’t turned out as I expected. I had a few deadlines I needed to meet by tonight for a project I’m working on with @ghostfish, but @guthrie came down with a 102º fever this afternoon and that put the brake on everything. Now I’m home taking care of him, alternating Children’s Advil and Children’s Tylenol while he watched Dan TDM on YouTube. I’m trying to stay productive despite the unexpected illness, and I decided to upload some video from the show I went to last night.
When @vermillionfox and I went to see Oh Sees in October, I saw that KADAVAR was coming to Minneapolis in late December […they tend to have a giant projector of upcoming events before the bands play]. If you aren’t familiar with KADAVAR, they’re a doom metal band from Berlin. I’m currently writing a horror novel with @ghostfish about Puritans, and one member of KADAVAR actually wears a pilgrim hat on occasion. They’re also great, so they’ve been on my regular rotation lately.
I almost didn’t make the show. I hadn’t taken the time or precautions to line up a babysitter and metal isn’t exactly @vermillionfox’s genre. In a turn of events, @guthrie was invited to sleep over and I pulled myself together and got to the venue only missing 30 minutes of the first set [Ruby the Hatchet]. Both great bands but KADAVAR was exactly what I needed to pull myself out of this solstice funk It was a great time. I had to balance making memories and being present for the show. Enjoy the video!

Hi Lars. I hope that @guthrie will recover from his fever soon. You really are a good father who can take care of him when he is sick. It was a very extraordinary concert. But I myself don't like watching Rock concerts because that will make my ears hurt. Have a nice day, sir.
