Nostalgia safe for work!

This day has given me a lot to think about. Typically, I’m not even starting my Steemit posts till well after midnight. Right now, it’s about 10:30p.m. Early enough that I’ll have plenty of time before retiring for the evening; so what will I do? @lovejoy and I met at @caffetto tonight and talked over the state of Steemit. Speculations on what is to come, SMT’s and Communities. If you haven’t read his recent post, “The Steemit Hero's Journey: Remembering why we're here, and where we're headed.”, you should. It’s great. We also brainstormed on our fiction projects […more mine, but still].

I’ve been watching MMA and revisiting old photography. This wasn’t on my docket for this weekend, but fell down a rabbit hole with a shoot I did during the winter of 2017. @wcpublishing and I were feverishly attempting to finish the “Proclivities” chapter for the Dark Pinup book. We were short on erotic photography, and on almost no notice and the fates aligning, I was able to orchestrate a shoot with two beautiful friends in Minneapolis, an outstanding make-up artist and one of the coolest venues in the Twin Cities; a bar called Constantine that looked like a set from True Blood.

When I say “short notice”, I mean, this all game together in less than 30 hours! Everything was in motion and we didn’t get the okay from Constantine until that morning. I remember Minneapolis was having a blizzard, but these incredibly ladies made it happen. We met up and found that rare energy where it all comes together to create incredible art. During my work flow tonight, I stumbled back in to this shoot and had to do a few new edits. Just before posting this, I emailed these edits to the two models. It was like seeing everything for the first time.

So, if your Saturday was less than exciting, I hope a little NSFW dark pinup nostalgia helped turn it all around. Tomorrow, I’m looking forward to a quiet, heads down afternoon and evening of work at @caffetto. @vermillionfox has a commitment with family. I’m hoping to finish a few edits and then, ideally, I’d like to lose myself in some of the plot I continued breaking with @lovejoy tonight. For now, it’s been far too long since I read my Kindle in the bath, so that’s what I’m going to do. Thanks for reading and supporting me here on Steemit!
