Gothic pinup w/ an Australian traveler!

Hey, Steemit! How are you all sorting the post-holiday hangover? I’m doing well tonight. @vermillionfox has been sick, so I decided to give her space to rest during the day. @guthrie and I made our way to @caffetto. He had some time with his friends and I was able to catch up on a few Magic: The Gathering games with @nickcdavis and @tarotbyfergus. My @coppercoins IndieGoGo campaign ends in just two hours from now, and unless something changes, we’ve reached our funding goal! We’re currently at 103%. Very exciting!

After the closing of the campaign, I’ll be sharing a new drawing of Charon, Ferryman for the River Styx, as sort of a celebration. I’ve been sketching that on and off today, but I decided to commit to some heads down editing time with photography I still owe. That’s what I’m sharing tonight. New edits of Christina, a goth pinup from Australia who came to the United States earlier this year and fit in a stop to Minneapolis just for this shoot. That’s happened a few times over the years and it blows my mind that people travel so far just to shoot together. It’s humbling.

Christina had her hair and make-up done earlier that day by a MUAH friend of mine that works throughout the Twin Cities. That’s always an advantage because make-up is such an integral part of how my photos turn out. As most of you know, I shoot a very unusual style called dark pinup. I like make-up that compliments the light, but also, the shadows. Christina brought a few different dark dresses and I was trying to channel something vampy, like an Anne Rice novel. I even got a few shots outside of my typical composition approach, and I love when that happens.

I’ll sleep well knowing I was able to get another set of edits done for a very patient client, in addition to all the other things I did today, including wrangling an “on winter break” @guthrie and caring for a sick @vermillionfox.
