Commitments kept; finishing up w/ Amelia!steemCreated with Sketch.

Hiya, Steemit! I’m comfortably sitting at my favorite corner booth at @caffetto. What a great day it’s been. @vermillionfox and I had a easy start to our day. @guthrie’s mornings have been smooth since I got back from home […much of the credit for that goes to @vermillionfox’s ability to give him a routine and schedule]. Having these stress free mornings are such a welcomed change of pace after the relentless schedule that was Viva Las Vegas, and the week earlier in Los Angeles. Sometimes I even take a nap during the afternoon.

Okay, so now that I’m home, I’m completely immersed in work. I love it. That’s how I know I love my job. The last three weeks have been a brutal three week marathon of traveling and shooting, so to be excited about sitting down and putting in 12 hour days is a real testament to great career choices. The first step is backing up almost 10K photos. I did that, and now I’m starting to triage what needs to be edited first. Obviously, I owe work from last fall but with some upcoming magazine deadlines, time dictates priority.

One client that I’ve owed since November of last year is this darling little Latina pinup, Amelia. I’ve shared some work with her previously. One of the few silver-linings that comes with owing work so long is the opportunity to see a shoot with a refreshed point a view. It’s almost like seeing the the images for the first time. That’s what this experience was like, digging back in to the files with Amelia. These are, without a doubt, my favorite images from our entire shoot together. I have a tendency to save the best for last. You can see why.

I get a lot of emails and messages from potential clients saying “…I’m not a model.”, or “…how much experience do you require?”. The answer is, “None!”. Amelia is a first time model and reviewing these photos, we absolutely killed it. I direct a lot when shooting, and Amelia took wonderful direction. The location was beautiful and enjoying the success of this collaboration makes me grateful for the people I meet and my approach to photography for the last twenty years.

I’m so glad to be back home and making the most of my own routine […I really missed my friends, family and coffee shop]. I only have two weeks before getting back on the road, but for these two weeks, I’ll be turning out a lot of work. Look for new work from Los Angeles and Vegas, and the last of what I owe from the end of 2018. Thanks for reading, supporting and upvoting. Man, I think that your work is one of the best that we have here on Steem.
The dark pin up is very very unique, and the pictures are very artistic.
Thanks for continuing sharing.

Nothing is compared to being at home, that's incredible!
All women are beautiful and each woman has a unique essence. That girl is beautiful and sexy.
She shows that you do not need to have that experience to be a model.

It was such a treat to see your Viva adventures online! Glad you’re home safe and sound❤️

I love your use of natural light @kommienezuspadt it's so soft and always makes me think of the old Dutch paintings. A wonderful model as well, glad you are relishing in your busy-ness.

I've been so busy, but not alas for arting but for rehab and other life stuff. Sometimes, though I think it's those moments that take us away from something that helps us to realize how much we DO like it and then when we CAN get back to it, we smile and think, "Yes, this is right".
