Birthday girl!

Hey, Steemit. I’ve been getting to my nightly blog posts earlier than usual. That hope is that I have a few hours to write, or draw. Lately, though, I’ve been getting tired earlier than usual. The daylight saving time change is probably responsible for that as well. Photoshop for iPad Pro is also on my list of things I need to get to and learn, and I’m gearing up to mentally prepare for the daunting task of turning a story I always thought of as a comic, in to a novel instead. Lots of consultation with @mada, @lovejoy and @ericvancewalton ahead.

I’m helping to celebrate my friend Crystal’s birthday tonight! She is an incredible person. I met her during very serendipitous circumstances in late 2017 when I was traveling on the east coast. It was just weeks before my book, Dark Pinup, by @wcpublishing was going to go to print. The “Proclivities” chapter was all the erotic, nude and fetish work and it was underrepresented from the other two chapters. There was a made dash to get as many erotic shoots done under the wire, and while staying in New York City, Crystal DM’ed me asking if I’d like to shoot together.

Typically, I’m never in a position to take of trade or free work. Under any other arrangement in my life where I wasn’t fully dependent the income I make from shooting, there are lots of beautiful models I’d love to shoot, even if it wasn’t paid. That isn’t my position, but in this case, I needed more sexy nudes for the book and Crystal was happy to oblige. We shot at a mutual friend’s apartment near Brooklyn and made these gorgeous images with green tones that perfectly complimented her red hair.

Today is Crystal’s birthday so I dug back in to the folder from a few years ago and edited these new photos to help celebrate the occasion. She and I haven’t gotten to see each other much, but we’ve stayed in touch and I consider her a very close, dear friend. It was great to revisit this shoot and the night we first met.
