The Learning Piramid

One of the most important actions in our lives is (without doubt) the process of learning.

All of us try to be more efficient in thing we do. That's absolutely normal thing. The whole evolution is all about it. 

If it is important to make exercises for the body in a smart way, it is even more neccesary to  effciently develop our skills and knowledge.

So - without prolonging the introduction - this is rather an unknown schema showing the efficiency of our memorization according to the chosen learning method:

As it can be seen our memorization of knowledge is strongly connected to the way of learning with we have chosen.

There mainly are two basic groups of learning - passive teaching methods and participatory teaching methods.

According to the graph the second ones are significantly better if we want remember any knowledge for longer time. This can lead us to the question: If passive methods (like lecture or reading) are so uneffective why governemnt school systems around the World are practicly connected only to those methods  :P  but let's leave it for another time.

Conclusion

It seems that the best self-teaching method is .... to teach others ! That's right. 

It isn't always easy to find somebody who we can teach. :p Instead of that we probably should always try to find an opportunity to learns something new in a practical way - by "doing the reall thing".
