Michigan's First Real Snow Fall of 2017
Today, the weather was around 25 degrees when we went out for our walk. That's cold!
Walking our dog in this Winter Wonderland in Michigan!
Our dog is a 4-year-old, male, Great Pyrenees named Falcor (Name inspiration came from 'Neverending Story' book and movie, Falkor).
"The breed has its origins in the southwest of France and the northeast of Spain in the mountains. The Great Pyrenees, known in France as Le Chien de Montagne Pyrenees (the dog of the Pyrenees Mountain), initially served as a livestock guardian. The Great Pyrenees' duty was to protect sheep from hungry wild bear and wolf attacks."-Great Pyrenees Pet Owner's Manual.
When considering to purchase or rescue this breed, you must sit down and weigh the pros and cons. You must understand the characteristics of this breeds behavior and understand how well these behaviors will fit into your lifestyle. I would recommend reading the book "Great Pyrenees-A Completely Pet Owner's Manual" by Barron's Educational Series.

Let's continue the morning walk on our 18-acre property. We decided to take the trail towards our pond. This is one of our favorite trails to take. It's absolutely serene and beautiful.
Now, we're getting closer to the pond. During the Spring and Summer, this pond is home to many animals: frogs, painted turtles, swans, geese and snapper turtles. It's wonderful to see life thriving here.
Back home we go! My son started whining about his hands being wet and cold, even though he had gloves on. It was pretty cold out.
Who doesn't like making Snow Angels?
Almost home!
Thanks for walking with us! :-)
I'll leave with this...be grateful, be humble, be kind and enjoy life!
Warm Wishes,
Ivana
I am a couple hours north of you, and we are getting nailed tonight with it. You have a beautiful family. I love the pyrennesie mountain dogs they are loyal dogs. Thanks for sharing.
Still snowing here but not too much. I'm glad it's not blasting us right now. Thank you for taking the time to read it! :)
Beautiful photos :) I have only been up in MI twice, but your photos remind me how serene it can be...
Hi, thank you! Where were you when you did visit MI?
extra ordinary photography and there is lot of snow.
Thank you. Thank you.
Beautiful photos and your family and dog are beautiful. I am now officially cold.
Thank you!
These are gorgeous photos of a gorgeous location and family, your doggie looks like quite a character!
Thank you! Yes, my dog is something else. He is such a pain in the booty but he protects us and he's such a cuddle bug. He's huge! He weighs about 100 pounds right now, big lap dog. :-)
