It‘s a very special feeling to walk through a Beatles song. "If the rain comes they run and hide their heads", sings John Lennon in the classical tune "Rain", and “they might as well be dead” he sings too. These are the thoughs you have when you try to make a trekking tour in Norway, this beautiful country in the very north of Europe.

Magic wood.

Yes, Norway is beautiful as hell. But it never was a landscape to go out in the summer with only a tent, walking boots, some food and a pair of trekking shorts. Norway has weather, very much weather! And the most of it is very worst. If you try to go the Lysefjorden round or the very long Kungsleden – in english the King’s Way, because he is the king of all trails in the north.

Upwards

You have to make your math: It’s possible that it will rain the half time of your tour. An norwegian rain in summer don't come down in that kind of mediterrian pool style.

Wet feelings

It’s wet and windy and it’s cold and it’s disturbing. And if it’s started it can go on for days and days. All the ways are swampy, all the trees are sad. Dark clouds are over us and the air is like liquid. We tried to find a place to setting up the tent, but it’s nearly impossible because the ground is like a lake. After a few minutes we found a small hill where the water is running downwards so it wasn't not dry, but a little bit dryer as the rest of the whole kingdom.

Our camp

But it is nice. It’s an adventure you will never forget when you still alive after it. Your backpack full with 20 kilogramm of equipment and things and food and suits presses on the shoulders, your socks are wet and your trousers are much more wetter. But you have good friends with you in your suffer and you have a small camping stove, coffee and a small bottle of swedish wodka.

Our way

If you crawl into your moist tent and you lay your head on your damp mattress and your hear the next wave of rain drops on the roof it will be a fine night. The next day you go further on this way because it’s yours.
