suggestion for touch to focus and professional camera mode on steepshot.

Components

Smartphone photography or phoneography as it is called these days is becoming a trend. Daily amateurs and professionals are using mobile phone cameras to produce magic. This magic can however be produced if the right parameters are available, which is the professional mode that contains added features like exposure, white balance, manual focus, grid lines etc. This professional camera mode is what steepshhot is lacking currently. The camera currently automatically selects a suitable preference for the user and this is good for a basic user. But not so good for a professional photography as his abilities are confined.

Also what is lacking in steepshot is the touch to focus function. Currently on steepshot, the camera automatically selects a preferred focus point for the user.

Proposal

I'm suggesting that the in app camera on steepshot should have professional mode and touch to focus functionality.

Mockups/Examples

This is the steepshot camera UI with the unavailability of touch to focus.

Touch to focus can be integrated on the camera like this. When a user touches a part he/she will like to focus on.A circular shape will appear on the UI indicating that the user selected to focus on that area.

This is the current steepshot camera without professional camera mode

The professional camera mode can be implemented like this, with the features showing in the modified picture.

Benefits

For touch to focus

• users are now in charge of the focus function on steepshot.
• focus on a camera, on a phone camera on close proximity allows a user select a focus area to create a depth of field either in front or behind the subject

for professional camera mode

• users that are professional photographers can now use the in-app camera on steepshot to capture pictures as they would on their normal cameras with professional mode.

• Normal users can also take advantage of the added options on the camera especially the exposure and ISO tool.

• It'll make the app more advanced for users who can go about it.
