Promoting VLC media the awesome media player for almost all media formats

Introduction

VLC media player is one of the best media players in the world. It is the leading name in the world of media players. Vlc media boasts of many rich features such as subtitles, gesture on mobile phones and several codecs capable of playing virtually all media formats that currently exists.

Promoting VLC media player will be an addition to my already growing number of promotions of open source projects.

Vlc media media player according to rating on google playstore has millions of users which is just a very little percentage against the total world population, hence the need to create an awareness of this amazing software. With all the qualities this app possesses, it should be the leading name in the names of media players existing in the world.

Audience

My target audience for this promotion was people within the
AGE= 13-65 years old.

GENDER= Men & Women

LOCATION= Africa

POPULATION DENSITY= 190,000,000

This is my first campaign in bringing visibility to this project.

Activity

As I've done in previous campaigns in bringing visibility to a project, I made a post on my facebook page and I introduced the project and enlisted some of it's properties that makes it really awesome and I backed up the post with an image of the app logo.
This post was subjected to campaign using facebook ads. The campaign was done to reach out to people and get them engaged, to make this possible I mentioned how where the app can be downloaded from and also provided a link to the official website of the project.

Results

From the ads created I was able to reach out to over 6,000 users on facebook, 203 people engaged the post which resulted in a total of 18 post clicks

This is the gender distribution on from the ads

From the stats shown in the image above it shows that more men were reached than women. But in the age range 13-17years, the female gender was reached more than the male gender.
