Video of the day: the exciting Time-lapse of the last launch of the SpaceX Falcon 9 missile

Last night, December 22, SpaceX Company, as is known, performed the last (eighteenth) mission this year - the Falcon 9 rocket launched ten satellites into orbit. The rocket was launched from the launch pad at the Vandenberg base in California. The launch itself looked very beautiful in the evening sky and made an impression on the inhabitants of Southern California, some even took a rocket for UFOs, and Ilon Mask did not fail to joke, stating "a nuclear alien UFO from North Korea." To transfer this "beauty" with a camera is not an easy task, but photographer Jesse Watson from Yuma, Arizona, managed to make a worthy video, which we offer to your attention in this article.

A video of 40 seconds duration is mounted in the Time-lapse mode.

As noted by PetaPixel, Jesse Watson has been watching SpaceX launches for some time and the last one - from the launch complex in the Vandenberg base of the US Air Force - was perfectly visible from his home, located about 650 km from the base.

It is reported that before this photographer has never filmed missile launches, that is, this work - the debut. At the same time, the photographer admits that he used the Google Maps data and the Photographer's Ephemeris software to prepare for the survey, showing the direction of lighting at a particular point at the specified time.

Relying solely on his own knowledge, Watson used to shoot four cameras installed in different places. One of the cameras with a telephoto lens was a regular video, while the other three were shot in Time-Lapse mode. In total, Watson made 2452 frames, but for the video used slightly more than half - 1315 shots. On the video you can see the moment of separation of the first stage of the rocket and the start of the engines of the second stage, which occurred at the end of the third minute of flight, and a "trace" in the night sky - gradually dissolving a picturesque smoke trail. The latter is displayed from several angles.
