In Merida, Venezuela there is a chapel of the Virgin of Coromoto called The Chapel of Stone that it was built by hand between 1980 and 1984 a base of rocks, shells and corals without the use of cement by the Venezuelan architect and sculptor Juan Félix Sánchez. Currently, this chapel was declared a Cultural Heritage of Venezuela, becoming one of the most well-known and appreciated architectural elements of the Andes and an essential meeting point for travelers who travel to Merida city.

The artist's work is located at the northern exit of San Rafael de Mucuchíes, in the páramo of Mérida and at a meeting point for tourists and residents. This church is the product of a promise made by the artist to the Virgin of Coromoto. Juan Felix Sanchez died on April 18, 1997 at the age of 96 and was buried in the Chapel of San Rafael de Mucuchíes, with his wife Epifania Gil.

Psalm 42:8
By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.
